It’s the stories that hang on a tree that gives a garden its magic. These guava trees came from the other side of our valley as mature seventy-year-old trees. For decades they were cared for by the same man. Meticulous pruning gave them an open, solid habit.
A guava tree grows fast – grown from seed, it may produce a harvest in its fourth to fifth year. In the garden we sport Fan Retief and Madeira varieties. Their white blossoms turn into an abundant fruit supply from April all the way to September.
Good to look at and loaded with Vitamin C!
