The mispel tree is well known in my country and was popular at the time Van Riebeeck came to the Cape.
Mispeltrees can still be found in most historical gardens in Holland.
Approx 100 years ago it was fashionable to have a mispel in your fruit garden.
My mother made mispel jam and it tasted ok.
We write the name with …el at the end.
